Located within the most attractive tourism destination of the island, the Municipality of Tirajana is offering a plot in Meloneras for a long term concession of 30 to 40 years.  The proposed plan includes different options for  development.  From a Sports Campus or a Venue for Live Entertainment Shows to a touristic attraction such as a Traditional Canarian Village.

  • A top tourism destination: The Canary Islands are one of the most important tourist destinations in Europe, receiving every year almost two million visitors from Mainland Spain and around ten millions from the rest of Europe: despite the international turmoil, the Canary Islands beat its all-time record of visitors in 2013, with around 12,2 Million tourists that spent their holidays in the Islands in 2013.
  • Well connected: Gran Canaria is directly connected with over 130 destinations, being located between 4 and 5 hour-flight from the main European airports.
  • Room to improve leisure and cultural activities. The catalogue of leisure and cultural activities for the tourists visiting Gran Canaria every year (around 3,5 million in 2013 – an all-time record despite international crisis) has large room for improvement. To complement the natural conditions that make Gran Canaria an international destination highly visited by British, German and Scandinavian tourists (with an average stay of over 9 days in the island), public and private institutions related with the tourist sector aim at enhancing the family leisure and entertainment offer for our visitors.
  • A year round business: A permanent base to develop Live Entertainment Shows in Gran Canaria would be very attractive for all our visitors, but also for tourist visiting other islands in the Canaries. The same would occur with a Sports Campus aimed at enhancing the Sports Tourism offer in Gran Canaria
